If I were Jonathon, I would've thought more about going to war. He does not realize that he is making a great mistake.
On page 5, it says: " And hadn't Jonathon talked to his friends of war, battles old and new, strategies fit for major generals? And having fought their wars, they had always won their glory, hadn't they?"
Well, all it proves to me is that he is not ready for war and that he should wait a little to become a soldier.
